Béton Bowl | Small

includes cast concrete vessel and steel bowl

$350.00 AUD

the béton bowl, small, brings the same architecture to cats and small dogs. its raised, inclined form draws from brutalism, the movement that took its name from béton brut, raw concrete, and from the round, grand geometry of the stadium, scaled to a smaller companion. developed over three years in partnership with Vert Design, each vessel is cast by hand in hydrophobic concrete, then finished by hand so no two cure quite alike. a double-walled brushed steel bowl lifts out to clean. weighted to stay exactly where it is placed. held to the standard of everything else you live with.

Care

hydrophobic concrete is durable, but it is cast, not indestructible. handle with care, as a heavy piece can chip if dropped. the surface resists water and stain by its nature, so no sealing is needed. to clean the vessel, wipe with a soft, damp cloth; avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive pads. the steel bowl lifts out and is dishwasher safe, or hand wash. store indoors or out. the finish is made to weather either.

Handmade Variation

each vessel is hand-cast in small batches and finished by hand, developed over three years with Vert Design. natural variation in tone, texture, and surface is inherent to the process. no two pieces are exactly alike, and that is the point.
