the animal was loved.

nicholas and antonio looked at what the market offered and found two doors, no third. cheap and ugly that works, or beautiful that never considered the pet at all.
SABI exists to refuse that choice.
caring for them and refusing the ugly were never two different things. so we spent two years building the object that is both.
